Marshall BEN Week 2016

Coulsdon Audi raises money for BEN Automotive Charity

Coulsdon Audi has raised over £500 for the automotive charity, BEN, by holding a number of fund raising activities at their centre.

As part of wider fundraising from the Marshall Group for the charity, Coulsdon Audi ran a number of fun activities including auctions for managers to do a colleague’s job for the day, which raised £130 alone in bids, and guessing how many balloons were in an Audi A1.

Other fundraising events, involving staff, included a onesie and pjs day, a cake sale, guess the name of the bear and bidding to go home early. A professional singer also provided entertainment in the showroom by busking to raise proceeds for BEN. A special mention is reserved for Fleetline, who made a very generous contribution to help reach the £540 fundraising target.

BEN is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to providing support to those who work, or have worked, in the automotive industry and their family dependents.

In 2015/16 BEN responded to an 81% in the number of enquiries to its helpline compared to 2014/15. The total number of people BEN helped across the year is about 3,000. Approximately 80% of those it helps are of working age (16-65).

The Marshall Group has been a key fundraiser for BEN, with Chief Executive, Daksh Gupta, facing his fear of heights to skydive, as the first of the BEN ‘Industry Leader Challenge’, in a bid to raise £100,000 for the charity.
