Capable, reliable and highly fuel-efficient, like every Transit van. Comfortable, rewarding to drive and full of smart technology like a Ford car. That’s the new Transit Courier. The van’s compact size makes it highly manoeuvrable and with one of the best turning circles in its class, you can negotiate busy, narrow streets and tight parking spaces with ease.
The van’s exterior is as built for purpose as it is designed for style. For example, a streamlined body shape not only gives Transit Courier a contemporary look, it improves aerodynamics to maximise fuel efficiency. Striking, high-tech lights also give you greater visibility and are well protected by the new bumper design at the front and rear. And rounded front corners help reduce knocks and scrapes in tight spaces.
Crafted to be comfortable and car-like, the high-quality interior is still every bit as practical and durable as you’d expect from a commercial vehicle. The new seats are both hardwearing and ergonomically designed to give you maximum support. Their position is also designed to put every control and storage compartment close to hand, including a clever 'Device Dock' on top of the instrument panel that securely holds your mobile phone, MP3 player or Sat Nav.
Front wheel drive, command driving position, advanced power steering and sophisticated chassis design… the Transit Courier delivers a driving experience you wouldn’t expect from a van. You have car-like levels of powertrain choice too: Diesel or Petrol, including the revolutionary 1.0L EcoBoost engine. And even fully laden, ECOnetic technologies will help maximise your van’s fuel-efficiency.
When your van stops at traffic lights or is idling in a queue, this optional technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the aircon, radio and Ford SYNC). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
The new Transit Courier incorporates many smart technologies designed to help protect you, your passengers and your cargo. For instance, technologies that can reduce the risk of skidding in wet or icy conditions, increase braking effort, assist in calling the emergency services, and make light work of hill starts. Plus systems that let you lock and unlock doors individually; alarms with motion detectors that help protect whatever you’re carrying and that can still sound the alarm, even if the battery’s been disconnected.
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps improve braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. The system senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it to achieve maximum braking effect.
