Adam Lockwood wins National Apprentice Award		Anthony Head – Service Manager Peterborough Peugeot Service

Adam Lockwood, a third year apprentice at Marshall Vauxhall Ipswich, has just been awarded the national title of Vauxhall Apprentice of the Year. Adam, 19, who joined Marshall from Claydon High Scholl near Ipswich, had to beat all 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Vauxhall apprentices in the country to win this title, which was assessed on technical knowledge and practical ability. As Adam’s employer and sponser, Marshall Vauxhall also picked up the Apprentice Sponsor’s award.		Anthony Head joined the company in 2001, with Land Rover in Peterborough. Anthony then moved to Head Office in a project based role working with the Aftersales Director, specialising in warranty and improving workshop performances. Anthony is now working on various Marshall Group Projects, in Aftersales, and is normally based in Peterborough Peugeot and Auto Directions.

Joan is a receptionist which is the first point of call in the dealership. The role is shared by two people at Melton, which Joan says really suits her as a single parent. "My boss and colleagues are very supportive of my needs to sometimes re-arrange work with another work colleagues and are very flexible. This is an enormous help." Recruited by Anthony Head, shown above, in Feb 2005, John moved to us from another Land Rover dealership. He had gained 10 years experience as an automotive electrician prior to this, which gave him a good grounding for the job. John likes a challenge and therefore likes the tougher jobs in the workshops but is always willing to help others. He has had an apprentice and semi-skilled technician under his wing. He is a Master Tech ATA and has entered the Land rover Master challenge for 2008. We wish him luck.
