The designers of the BMW K 1300 S were very clear about their aims: even more power, even more performance. The result is a machine that combines the excitement of a track bike with the practical features needed for long-distance riding on the road, such as the famous BMW Motorrad Duolever and BMW Motorrad ABS.
The K 1300 S is also available with ESA II Electronic Suspension Adjustment as an option, allowing you to modify the suspension set-up depending on the load you are carrying.
The K 1300 S's 1,293cc water-cooled four-cylinder engine boasts a whopping 175bhp, as well as 140Nm of torque. This level of power converts to maximum speed on the road, with a lightweight body construction and optional gear shift assistant ensuring that you get the most out of each rev of the engine. Despite all this power, fuel consumption is impressively low, with a consumption rate comparable to that of much less powerful bikes.
In terms of the ride quality, BMW has outdone itself. The K 1300 S marries track bike performance and endurance bike comfort with ease, thanks to the inclusion of ABS as standard. Duolever technology is also fitted, providing unrivalled comfort over longer distances without compromising on speed.
The performance on offer with the K 1300 S does not come at the expense of safety. Ride enhancements include Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) as optional extras, ensuring that you remain in control of the ride at all times.
